9 years ago today Casey and I were married.

It was the best decision I have ever made, to marry my best friend.

This will always be one of my favorite pictures. I was so happy that Casey accepted Kinsley like his own daughter. (can you believe how little she is in this picture? she was 18 months old)

Casey I love you more and more each day. And it definitely doesn't feel like we have been married for 9 years. Most of the time it still feels like we are newly weds.

Our relationship isn't perfect, but I would say it's pretty darn close.

8 years and a bit

Casey and I celebrated our 8th anniversary almost a month ago. I just never got around to posting about it.

Date Night

The hubby and I had a great night out last night. First we went to Sammy's where they have delish food, I had a Chicken Poly Sandwich and batter dipped fries with fry sauce. For those of you not in Utah and probably never heard of fry sauce, you don't know what you are missing, there are variations, but it is basically ketchup and mayo mixed together. Then to end our meal we had an oreo cream pie shake, yes I said pie shake, they put a slice of oreo cream pie in our shake, it was delish!

After dinner, we went to the Mindy Gledhill / Thrillionares Nie Nie Benefit concert.

It was amazing, the Thrillionares are an improv singing group, they are hilarious.

Mindy Gledhill has such a beautiful voice, to be honest I hadn't heard much of her music before going, she made a fan out of me. One of my favorite songs she sang was about Christian and Stephanie, so beautiful. I came home with her Feather in the Wind album which I am listening to now. I saw Nie's family there, what an amazing family. Nie's two beautiful daughters even got on stage and sung a song with Mindy.

Truly amazing, I laughed, I cried, and was very uplifted. As Casey and I were leaving we talked about how good it made us feel, I loved it! One of the best date nights. ever.

Aprons and Paris

Don't worry the giveaway is still going on, just scroll down to the next post! I was just excited about an apron I made for my sister. (I'm pretty sure she doesn't read this) She is getting married later this month and we are having a shower for her on Saturday and this apron is part of a game and then it's hers. (but after I made it I wanted it all for myself.)

I just used fabric I had in my stash, it turned out so funky and cute I think, I'm going to have to make one for myself. I may even make them to sell, I have had alot of people ask if I sell adult aprons, so far I've only made kids aprons, this is the first ever adult apron I've made. Super simple, I didn't use a pattern, I just pulled an apron out that I had and cut around that. I even used some of my vintage trims on the pockets, which is very hard for me to part with, I'm such a ribbon and trims hoarder. Now onto other things....

I would like to introduce you to Cheddar and Owlie, they had an exciting day today.
Since school started again, my youngest daughter Sage (she is 4) has playtime by herself during the day. I always love to listen to her because she comes up with the best stuff all by herself without any big sisters to tell her what to do. So here is what I heard. (also imagine it in that high pitched voice that little girls always play with)
Cheddar: Let's go!
Owlie: Where are we going?
Cheddar: We are going to Paris, to Paris, to Paris
Owlie: Yippee
Cheddar: Let's go in here, we'll go in this rocket ship.
Cheddar and Owlie: Goodbye World, we are going to Paris, Goodbye!
BLASTOFF!

All I could do was smile:)

Nie Nie Day Auction

One of the first times I heard about Stephanie and Christian Neilsen was from this post. I was in tears, I don't know the Nielsens, I hadn't even come across Stephanie's blog until after their tragic accident. Learn more about it here.
It has been awesome reading about the faith, strength, and support of Stephanie's Family. And I am amazed at what great support can come from this blogging world, I am in awe.

All I have been able to think about is if something like this was to happen to my family, I know we would need tons of support to get through it. So I felt I needed to share some love and support for the Nielsen Family. So I am having an auction for Nie Nie Day. You can go to

Here's what I am auctioning: A Pillowcase style girly shirt/tunic/dress and a matching flower ponytail holder. All handmade with love by me. (Valued at $24) The shirt is 16" from the neckline to the hem. The shoulder ties are adjustable. It would work as a dress for a 12 month old, or a shirt for up to a 5 or 6 year old, maybe even older depending on the size of the child. My daughter in the picture is 4 years old if that helps give you an idea of the fit. In the summer, it is perfect as is, in colder weather, it looks so cute with a shirt underneath or a sweater and some leggings!

This picture was taken Fall of 2006, so a couple years ago, but I love this picture. I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day. To my husband, for being a great husband and daddy. And to my Dad who taught me to be a hard worker, and to be independent.

Graduation Day and the coolest thrifted fabric!

Today was Jade, my kindergartner's, Graduation. She was so proud to be on the stage singing and would just smile from ear to ear whenever she looked at us. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed, I know, kindof lame, just for Kindergarten graduation. What can I say, I am in awe that I have 3 beautiful girls that I get to watch grow up.

On another note I found what I think is now my favorite piece of fabric that I own at the thrift store yesterday. I think it speaks for itself.

3 of my favorite people

These are my three daughters,(from left to right, Jade, Sage, Kinsley) this picture was taken last August after Aunt Cari did their hair and makeup. They felt so pretty. Let me just say, my children do not wear makeup, only when their aunt puts it on without my permission! Anyways, I think they are 3 of the most beautiful girls ever! Each with their own unique personality.

Kinsley my oldest: a leader, kindof goofy, likes to do things her own way,

loves to do anything creative, I mean this kid is amazingly creative,

she was drawing pictures that you could tell what they were before she was 2!

She also builds really cool "mouse houses" as she calls them with sticks.

Jade my middle child: very sensitive to her own and others feelings, smiles a lot!

(My favorite is when I pick her up from school and she is running towards me with

a huge smile on her face yelling Mommeeeee!), she loves to sing, she has even sung a

solo at a church program in front of hundreds of people, loves to cuddle

Sage my youngest: The comic of the family, always doing or saying something funny,

also loves to sing, I am always catching her singing, very headstrong( I think this will

be a blessing later in life), very loving, she gives the best hugs, (sometimes with her

whole body, she will wrap her arms and legs around me and just squeeze.)
